Supervisor Drug and Alcohol Training

This course is for front-line supervisors with a responsibility for monitoring employee performance and recognizing unfit for work situations that may be due to the use of alcohol or drugs.

Identifying, assessing, and approaching an employee who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a challenging responsibility. Corridor’s Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Training provides clear guidelines and resources on how to handle an unfit for work situation, recognize the signs of substance use, and make a decision on reasonable cause testing. The course also covers how and when to refer an employee for an alcohol and drug test following a serious or near-miss incident, and what to do if an employee refuses to submit to testing.

This 1.5-2 hour course is based on the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace with learning content provided by Barb Butler, Canada’s preeminent alcohol and drug expert. Interactive exercises, knowledge checks, and practice scenarios help to reinforce important concepts and information. For non-DOT employers this course meets and exceeds industry standards for providing a safe workplace.
