Making the Workplace Safer and Mitigating Liability with Training

This course is for all employees that need to understand safety risks in a workplace with a drug and alcohol policy and that are subject to drug and alcohol testing.

Corridor’s drug and alcohol awareness training for employees focuses on the keys of being “fit for duty”, how drug and alcohol testing is conducted, what happens if the test is positive, return to duty procedures and outlines individual responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of all staff. The training also educates employees on the health effects of alcohol use, prescription drugs, marijuana, and other illegal drugs.

This 1 hour course will ensure that all employees understand the impacts of substance on workplace safety and their responsibilities to always be fit for duty. Topics in our employee courses include:

  • Applicable legislation (human rights, OH&S)
  • Drugs and their effects (alcohol, marijuana, illicit drugs, prescription medications)
  • Safety risks related to alcohol and drug use
  • Standard workplace alcohol and drug testing procedures
  • Situations where testing may be required (reasonable cause and post-incident)
