Corridor has an exclusive partnership with Barbara Butler, Canada’s preeminent alcohol and drug expert with over 30 years’ experience implementing corporate alcohol and drug policy and strategies across North America. Our partnership with Ms. Butler provides you access to her comprehensive knowledge base and best practices regarding alcohol and drugs in the workplace. Ms. Butler has been assisting governments, industry and labour associations, and private business with workplace alcohol and drug issues since starting her business in 1989. She works with organizations in a wide variety of sectors across the country to help them develop and implement alcohol and drug policies. This includes the development of communications strategies and awareness and education programs to meet unique corporate needs. She provides expertise on the design and delivery of supervisor training programs as well as the contracting for and setting up of Substance Abuse Professionals and alcohol and drug testing services under a company’s policy. Barb is frequently involved in Canadian legal cases on this issue and is an expert in the boundaries established for company programs by courts, human rights tribunals and arbitrators. She has ongoing involvement in the implementation and refinement of policies and programs across Canada to meet U.S. DOT regulatory requirements for motor carriers entering the United States.

Corridor has an exclusive partnership with Jean L. Eaton, a recognized and respected leader and expert in health information management, privacy management and legislation. Ms. Eaton provides solutions that are practical and effective for today’s health care providers. She is passionate about supporting primary care practices, pharmacies, chiropractors, and dental practices to implement privacy by design and best practices to protect privacy, confidentiality, and security of personal information. With over 20 years of experience, she has the knowledge and tools to help any health care provider or business improve their information privacy practices.

In Ms. Eaton’s own words, she is constructively obsessive about privacy, confidentiality, and security when it comes to the handling of personal information, particularly in primary health care settings. She has both a YouTube channel and Podcast with regular interview series with practice managers, healthcare providers, or trusted vendors who support healthcare practices.

Corridor partners exclusively with Glenn French of the Canadian Initiative on Workplace Violence Ltd. A recognized leader in the mental health field, Mr. French has held senior clinical and administrative roles in both public and private sectors. He has advised many of Canada’s top organizations on employee safety and well-being.

The Canadian Initiative on Workplace Violence studies workplace behaviour patterns, creates approaches for minimising aggression, and assists employers with policy development, risk assessments, and staff and management training programs.

An invited speaker at international forums, Mr. French tabled his paper “Towards a Global Standard for Workplace Conduct” at the 9th Global Conference on Occupational Health and Safety, co-sponsored, in part, by the World Health Organization.

The work of the Canadian Initiative has been showcased on the CBC, CITY TV, CTV, Global Television, and multiple print dailies across Canada, as well as wide coverage on radio and trade publications, including Public Safety Canada’s Prevention Magazine. He has also addressed organizations including the American Federation of Labour, Conference Board of Canada, and Disaster Canada to name a few.

Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in Labour Studies from McMaster University with a research specialization in the workplace harassment of precarious, frontline workers in the realm of funded employment services.

Informed by her education, ongoing professional development, and both work and lived experiences, Jennifer takes a human rights and equity-informed approach to occupational health and safety to help organizations systemically address and prevent workplace harassment, discrimination, and violence and, ultimately, eradicate systemic barriers that are pervasive within all organizations and institutions.

Jennifer has worked in various capacities from education and training to investigations to conflict management. Moreover, Jennifer has worked in and with both public and private sector organizations, such as municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government, post-secondary institutions, non-profit agencies, and private firms, in both unionized and non-unionized environments.

Recognizing that each organization is a unique entity with its own unique challenges, Jennifer works closely with organizations to develop and implement strategies that are specific to and informed by their needs.

Paul Gardiner is the Subject Matter Expert for Corridor’s newest online training product – Returning to Work with Confidence During COVID-19. The training puts the spotlight on creating a safe and healthy workplace by bringing mental health to the forefront of the organization. Mr. Gardiner is a Registered Psychotherapist practicing in Ontario. He has his Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago and has been providing psychotherapy and clinical management services for the past 14 years in a variety of clinical settings. Mr. Gardiner has substantial experience with mental health programs, hospital inpatient addiction programs, outpatient addiction, psychology offices, and national EAP companies. He is a favorite speaker, often called upon to share his expertise on how to support the mental health needs of employees and workers to create psychological safety for all members of an organization. For the last several years Paul has been focused on Organizational Wellness issues, including clinical efforts to address high-risk substance use in the workplace. As a clinician, Mr. Gardiner has provided hundreds of mental health and addiction assessments, many of these in Fort McMurray when he lived in the Oil Sands during 2013. Mr. Gardiner is the founder and principal at Essential Organizational Services Inc, that coordinates EAP and SAP services across Canada.
