Canada Drug & Alcohol Online Training

Fitness for Duty. Reasonable Cause. Compliance.

Drug & Alcohol Awareness training is a key component in all Fitness for Duty policies. Corridor’s training is designed for all levels of your organization – educating supervisors on how and when to trigger drug and alcohol testing and ensuring employees understand their responsibilities as well as what to expect if sent for testing. Work performance can be impacted by drug use of any kind – alcohol, recreational or medical cannabis, prescription drugs or illegal drugs. The courses provide clear guidelines and resources to understand reasonable cause or suspicion, drug and alcohol testing processes. This course provides an overview of how Canadian Regulatory Agencies, including the law, The Canadian Human Rights Commission, The Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations treat drug and alcohol abuse and misuse in the workplace.

All training packages include information about mood altering substances and patterns of abuse as well as key details of physical, behavioural, speech and performance indicators of substance use and misuse. The training also covers myths and facts of drug and substance addiction. Supervisor training programs outline a step-by-step process for how to address performance issues and initiate difficult conversations with a problem employee.

Regular education and training can lower the statistics and costs to employers and the economy for lost productivity, profits, salaries, and the unmeasurable cost of livelihoods lost and broken families.
